I stayed for 5 nights and was thrilled by the easy access to Retiro Park, which was just a short walk away, and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning with an excellent selection of options. As a solo traveler, it was great to find such a comfortable room with a large TV and friendly, helpful staff, but there was a noticeable smell of tobacco in my room that could use addressing.

The reception area lacks appeal and needs better design!!! Noise from the street intrudes on comfort, and the elevator situation is a real inconvenience during busy hours. There’s also a pressing need for improved maintenance on all levels!!!

I enjoyed my stay at Catalonia in Madrid. The staff were super friendly, always ready to help. My room was nice, very spacious, and had two windows that looked out over Goya street. The shower was excellent, strong, and refreshing. Breakfast offered a good variety, though it wasn't as extensive as some other places I've been. I loved that it was in a great location, close to good restaurants and shops, making it easy to walk around the Salamanca area. However, I faced issues with noise from the corridor. The room could use more insulation. Also, I noticed a lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room, which would have been nice. The breakfast area felt a little cramped during peak times. One thing that stood out negatively was that I ended up with a room with two single beds, when I had requested a queen-sized bed. Overall, I appreciated the cleanliness and comfort despite these few inconveniences.

The breakfast choices were so delightful—made-to-order omelets hit the spot every morning. Catalonia Goya is the place to be for food lovers! The breakfast buffet had a mix of local delights to kickstart my day. Plus, it's just a hop from jaw-dropping spots like El Pimiento Verde and La Casa del Abuelo where you can munch on delectable seafood.

The TV is nice, but I would have liked Airplay or an HDMI plug for my laptop. The coffee capsules were either decaf or too strong—how about a softer brew?
